In particular, the A7 is an important north-south route in Germany and runs from the Danish border near Flensburg via Hamburg and Hanover to the Austrian border in the Allgäu. The federal roads that run through the Göttingen city area are the B3 and the B27.
In Göttingen, both ICs and ICEs of the German railways stop, with buses running within the city. The nearest airports are a little further away – Paderborn Lippstadt is closest. Airports in Erfurt and Hanover are also accessible.
